Lemon Tarragon Herbed Butter

I debated whether to share this recipe or not, I mean I have a feeling most people would already know how to make herbed butter but at the same time maybe some people don’t? In any case I thought it would be a good one to feature as a recipe here since herbed butter is so versatile! To be honest it had been a while… actually a long time since I had made it myself but since I was planning on making a whole chicken in the slow cooker and wanted to use this in there, I decided to share it with you. The recipe for the chicken will be coming up as well!

So what is herbed butter? Basically it’s taking a softened block of butter and adding in fresh herbs to it and mixing together. Some people also use dried herbs but I like using fresh. What you use is up to you and depends on what you’re going to pair it with. I also like adding lemon zest or orange zest as well to really liven up the flavours! Once you’ve made your herbed butter you can use it for a number of things like cooking vegetables in it or adding it to some baked potatoes or adding some on top of a well cooked piece of steak… YUM!

Here’s how to make it….
