Welcome to Warwick!

I can’t believe it has taken me this long to share this post with you all. I’ve been wanting to share a post on the town Joe and I live in here in England ever since we moved here over a year ago now but I have just kept putting it off. To be honest though when we first moved here our first apartment was in a not so nice area and there wasn’t much to share! Luckily we moved out of that place into the one we’re in now and there’s definitely lots more to share around here. Sometimes it’s still hard to believe that we have moved countries twice, first from Australia to America and then America to here and it’s taken me just about this one year to get adjusted to life here, it was the same in America and took me about that long to get used to life in Michigan (we lived there for 2 years).

So a little about the town we live in. We live in the town of Warwick which is part of the county of Warwickshire, with Warwick Castle being the main attraction/monument here, built by William the Conqueror in 1068… oh and the castle is pretty much on our door step! The population of Warwick is about 30,000 which when compared to say the population of our hometown, Melbourne, Australia which is 4 million, is MUCH smaller but there is often crazy traffic around, mainly because the town is so old that there is literally only one way in and one way out which means traffic buildup! The town itself is quite old and historic, it’s very… English! There’s no shopping centres (malls) but just one off shops, and a few restaurants, cafés and lots of pubs, the English love their pubs! If we want to go to a shopping centre we have to drive about 30-40 minutes, usually we go to Birmingham which is the second most populated city in England, after London. You can read more about Warwick here.

Anyway, as I was saying I’ve been wanting to share this post for a while now and finally over the weekend I grabbed the camera and Joe and I went off to take some photos, luckily we had some great sun and beautiful weather over the weekend, as opposed to the constant wet and cold weather we’ve had for a while now which made it much more enjoyable to walk around taking photos.

So for now I’ll leave you with some images from our surrounding area. Hope you enjoy!

Wow! It’s a little like a fairy tale world. In the US, such great historical places are almost nonexistent,. And I hope you plan to sit outside for tea when it gets warmer. That would be awesome on a sunny day.

That tea shop looks awesome! It reminds me of my time spent in Ireland. I’d love exploring those little cobble stone streets. Very beautiful Naz, you’re a lucky gal :]
