About a week ago I decided to cut out coffee for a few weeks, I don’t think there is anything wrong with coffee as long as you tolerate it but I felt like I was relying on it a bit too much and wanted to give my body a break. So I’ve been trying some alternatives to coffee in the morning, like Chai, Rooibos, Earl Grey other herbal tea varieties and things like warm water with ACV or lemon juice and a little honey to sweeten.

I recently came across a drink called ‘Chia Fresca’ and while I had head of people adding chia seeds to water and drinking it, I didn’t realise this drink had an actual name. Turns out that this drink hails from Mexico! When I saw this post I knew I wanted to try it out for myself so I came up with this quick and easy to make ‘Ginger Lime Chia Fresca’. Yaaaayyy for Fridays! I hope your week has gone well! I’ve been busy planning and creating new content for the blog. Carrot Smoothie

Just wanted to share this quick smoothie recipe with you. It was something I just threw together and well it turned out YUM so here it is….

Carrot Smoothie

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk.
  • 1 medium carrot, peeled and diced.
  • 1/2 frozen banana.
  • 1 tbsp almond butter.
  • 1 tsp cinnamon.
  • Pinch of nutmeg.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.
  • 1/4 tsp coconut butter or you could use coconut oil.
  • Raw honey/maple syrup for sweetening.
  • Toasted coconut flakes (for garnish).
Method:

Place all ingredients except for the toasted coconut flakes into a high-powered blender like a Vitamix and blend! If you’re using a regular blender then grate the carrot before adding it in. Sprinkle toasted coconut flakes on top if you like.
