Taking Time

Dear Cinnamon Eats readers,

This is going to be a fairly quick post but there’s something I need to share with you which isn’t easy for me to do. As readers of this blog you hopefully know how much I love creating and sharing recipes with you but for a while now I have felt the need to step away from the blog and to take some time out due to some things that have come up in my life. I’m not sure how long of a break I will take, most likely knowing myself I will be back sharing recipes before I know it because it truly is what I love to do but I know that above all else my well-being comes first so I definitely need the break to focus on those other things. I’m not quite ready to share everything that has been going on with me, maybe in future I will be able to do that. I do have a couple of guest posts coming up for some great bloggers which I will share here but as for my own recipes, I will be taking a break from sharing those, for some time (as I said not sure how long).

In the mean time I will still be updating my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest accounts on a frequent basis so you can find me at any of those places. Although I will have to say Instagram is proving more and more to be my favourite place to post these days!

Thank you for being part of Cinnamon Eats and I look forward to sharing more delicious paleo/real food recipes with you in future.

Naz xx

Grass-Fed Persian Spiced Beef and Roasted Butternut Squash

Plate of grass fed ground beef and roasted butternut squash

Lately it feels like I’ve been having mind blanks when it comes to creating recipes for this blog. Some weeks I feel like I just can’t come up with anything and just want to give up on the whole thing but I always manage to find something to share. The truth is what I share with you here is what Joe and I eat at home, that’s why you will find more savoury than sweet recipes here, because we just don’t eat them very often and honestly I’m not a big baker so those recipes are kind of every now and then for me. I try to photograph at least 3 recipes a week of what we eat to share with you but on other days our meals are pretty much simple to make and eat things! I cook a lot with grass-fed beef/lamb and turn that into different things like meatballs, sauce, patties etc and just change up the vegetables and seasonings. So I guess cooking for the blog is slightly different to cooking just for us to eat. Anyway, I’m not a chef but a home cook so I try my best to share a range of recipes and hope that you all reading this blog will enjoy them! [Read more…]

I’m the type of person who, if I’m visiting somewhere new will research all about the food culture of a place before I even get there and when I get there all I want to do is immerse myself in the food culture that place has to offer. I love watching cooking shows and collecting cookbooks, in my dream house I would have bookshelves mounted ceiling to floor on every wall in the house filled with cookbooks/books about food and have a French Country style kitchen with a modern twist… but anyway my point to all of this is that I’m a foodie at heart, and I know that term is used a lot and sometimes it can feel a bit… I don’t know… funny to use but I’ll take it. Guest Post: How Paleo Gave Me My Life Back

John

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve all had a great week! Today I’ve got a guest post to share with you from a blogging buddy of mine, John Mack. I can’t remember exactly how John and I connected but I think it was through Instagram. I also remember reading about him over on Mark’s Daily Apple, which I will share with you further below.
